Prepared by Texas Democrats with Disabilities

Welcome delegates with disabilities!

We’re excited to tell you about the work the disability caucus has undertaken with the TDP convention planners to make this convention an inclusive convention for people with disabilities! We’ll be making updates to the information as we approach June 21st.

As a delegate, you should have received and returned the Disability Accommodation Questionnaire. This is a tool for convention planners and organizers to understand the unique needs of our communities and make accommodations accordingly. If you did not complete and return yours, there’s still time. Click on the link, fill in the blanks and you’ll be all set.

Non-delegates who want to attend may get a Guest Pass.

Molly-The-Trolley is a vintage-look trolley with all the modern amenities and is a quick and convenient way to travel around downtown Fort Worth.

The Molly route travels from the Fort Worth Convention Center to Sundance Square 7 days a week, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Time between trolleys is 10 to 15 minutes. Molly also serves Trinity Metro’s Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC), connecting to commuter rail, Amtrak, inter-city and inter-state bus service and rental car services.

This pdf displays all forms of transportation. It explains fares, Molly the Trolley, how to use the trip planner and next bus functionality. In addition, it has the system map, with insets.

Paratransit & Taxi

Unfortunately, cab companies do not accommodate power chairs and private paratransit charges are extremely high. However, Fort Worth does have MITS para-transit and will accommodate out-of-towners. You must apply and be found eligible at least 21 days beforehand. See MITS para-transit for application, schedules, and fares.

Hotel Accessibility List

The List contains accessibility information for numerous hotels within 10 miles of the convention center. Volunteers called each to obtain the following: number of accessible rooms (Many rooms are equipped for hearing and vision impaired guests.), number of accessible parking spaces, if the hotel pool has a lift, complimentary shuttle service and more.

The List contains disability-related information. It is not a listing of available rooms. Some hotels are already sold out!
